YFCC work in partnership with educators, children, young people and arts organisations to create arts & cultural learning activities
Creative Learning Packs
Thanks to funding from Historic England, YFCC created 350 sharing heritage packs which were given to children at 7 primary schools.
Each pack contained monoprint materials and artist-created instructions as well as three Discover Arts Award booklets supporting children to share local heritage using different art forms:
Jim Hocking The March Hero - shared through playing with words and creating a podcast. Designed by Bettina Furnee and Wysing Arts Centre
The Great Fire of Chatteris - shared through stop animation designed by Gordon Parsonage
The Peckover Collection - shared through zine making designed by Kaitlin Ferguson
Let's Create
The Cultural Education Partnerships in the Festival Bridge area engaged with a wide range of artists to design a summer holiday booklet filled with creative challenges. The artists were asked to create activities that didn't require much in the way of materials and the outcome was amazing. Thanks to further funding from Festival Bridge YFCC were able to offer 500 of these packs to children from low income families in Fenland over the summer of 2020.
